This guitar was a fun one to build and a great experiment gone perfectly well!~ It started with the idea of using Alaskan Yellow Cedar for the sound board. The idea was to produce a mellower version of a typical maple top electric guitar. With a chambered korina body and neck along with a special curly Brazilian rosewood fretboard the guitar is a joy to play and hear. The tone is nice and mellow yet still retains enough bite to hold its own as an electric instrument. The Sungazer is in a class all its own and is a design that continues to prove itself every time one comes out of the lab. Here is a quote from the new owner:

David: I received the guitar...It is awesome..It exceeded my expectations....When I first ordered the Sungazer I did not think it looked balanced or designed to play, I thought of it as a showpiece because it had a very interesting and different look...Exactly the opposite, it feels great and it is extremely comfortable to play, especially sitting down resting on my knee...Again the neck is the perfect carve for me...I find a very unique sound from that combination of woods, the ceder top kind of gives it a warmer mellow tone, not the same snap as maple to my ear, which is exactly what I was trying to accomplish....All said, I am extremely happy with the build and it was truly worth the wait...Thanks
